Spanish and Latin American literature are the academic motivations behind many foreign students who want to study in Chile, as are political and social history in the passionate Latin American context and all of the scientific issues suggested by its geographic and cultural diversity: from the whiteness of Antarctica to the cleanest skies in the desert.

The intellectual and academic attractions are added to the opportunities for recreation, adventure tourism, sports, and a cultural life that are completely compatible with student life. That is why academic exchanges in postgraduate courses or other types of studies are frequent, creating a student community of peers.

The number increases as the years go by and the foreign students come from very diverse countries. Cities like Santiago, Valparaiso, Concepción and Valdivia, among others, offer a broad range of quality universities. The Catholic University of Chile and the University of Chile are known throughout the region for their academic prestige and excellence, ranking among the top 300 in the world, according to certain rankings of higher education institutions (THE - QS World University Rankings - 2008).

Together with higher university education, the Chilean system includes Technical Training Centers and Professional Institutes, with state scholarship and credit systems. Along these lines, we suggest obtaining official information from the Education Ministry or visit our Education site.
