Fly fishing in the Bío Bío River

Río Biobio

This river is located in the Araucanía region and has populations of rainbow and brown trout, and catfish. The best time to practice fly fishing in this river, which starts in the mountains and empties in to the Pacific Ocean, is between November and December.  It is not necessary to fish aboard a boat; it is possible to catch fish from the shore.  The river crosses an area of vast native vegetation, and it is possible to do rafting, hiking and horseback riding.
