Maipo Valley

Valle del Maipo

It is the most traditional wine-growing area of the country; its name comes from the Maipo River, the most significant river close to Santiago. Most wellknown vineyards of the country produce their wines in this region, with a Mediterranean climate of four distinct seasons. Cabernet sauvignon is the most prevalent varietal of the zone.
