Conguillío National Park

This national park is adjoined to the Alto Bio-Bio zone and is a biosphere reserve recognized by Unesco.  It is home to the araucaria o Chilean pine, a tree species protected as a national monument.  The Conguillío lake and Llaima volcano serve as the backdrop to a variety hiking trails suitable for the entire family and served by park rangers.  Accommodations are limited, but on good weather days, it is possible to rent canoes or bicycles.
