This volcanic biosystem is recognized as a biosphere reserve by Unesco.  It is located 667 kilometers offshore and consists of three islands. One of them hosted the Scottish marine Alexander Selkirk, who inspired the novel Robinson Crusoe in the 1700’s. It has 150 species of flowers, and their star product is the lobster.
