The Town of Toconao

The town of Toconao is located at close to 2,500 meters above sea level in the middle of the Atacama Desert.  Because of its network of small rivers, several types of fruit grow in the area.  Most of the buildings in the town have been built from volcanic rock, notably the town’s church.  Not far from the town, visitors can take long walks in the picturesque Jerez Ravine.
