Monte Verde Archaeological Site

The Monte Verde Archaeological Site is located close to Puerto Montt in the Monte Verde municipality.  This site was discovered in 1976 and revealed the oldest archaeological findings of anywhere in North or South America, dating back over 33,000 years.  A showroom displaying the artifacts is open to the public.
