Patriots Cave

Patriots Cave is located on Robinson Crusoe Island in the Juan Fernandez archipelago.  The cave was originally inhabited by Chilean patriots that fought for independence and, as a result, were exiled from the continent following the Battle of Rancagua.  Unexpectedly, several types of ferns have evolved to grow in the cave.
