Cerro Santa Lucia is a hill in downtown Santiago that stands over 600 meters high.  The Mapuche people named it the Mane of Huelen.  At present, the hill includes a network of trails for walking and also includes parks and water fountains.  The addition of this recreational infrastructure was initially the effort of Benjamín Vicuña MacKenna, a prominent politician in the late 19th c.  Many tourists continue to visit the hill in order to enjoy the unparalleled sights of the city.
