The Central Market was built during Santiago’s architectural book in the late 19th c.  It has since been named a national monument partially on the merit of its neoclassical carved iron.  The architect was Fermín Vivaceta.  Presently, it supplies Santiago with seafood, fruits, and vegetables, as well as, being a great dining experience for tourists.
