With over 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students, Universidad Central de Chile seeks to train comprehensive,  enterprising and innovative professionals with  high social awareness, principles that are evident in our University’s mission and institutional values: pluralism, independence and innovation.

Founded in 1982, it is one of Chile's oldest private universities. Autonomous since 1993, it was accredited by the National Accreditation Committee, from December 2008 to December 2012, in the Areas of Institutional Management and Education Leading to Qualified Teacher Degree.

With a modern infrastructure, it has three buildings located in the University District of Santiago, in addition to a Sports Center and regional Campuses in the cities of Antofagasta and La Serena.

Academic programs

With an academic seal of excellence, based on a competency-based curriculum, Universidad Central de Chile provides undergraduate postgraduate studies in the areas of education, communication, health, architecture and landscaping, economic, legal, political and administrative and social sciences, as well as physics and mathematics, through its eight  faculties and health schools.

In addition, beginning in 2010, Universidad Central de Chile launched the first Community College of Santiago that offers Higher Level Technical careers, through an agreement with the LaGuardia Community College of the City University of New York (USA).

To encourage student mobility, the Universidad Central de Chile has a series of agreements in place with universities in Brazil, Spain, Mexico, the United States and France, among others.

Our students also have access to a number of scholarships to complement their studies abroad.
