Accommodation in Chile has never been so widely renowned - or catered to such a wide clientele.
The Andean nation romped home in this year’s exclusive Condé Nast Traveler “Hot List,” with five Chilean hotels making the “best new hotels,” category.
Of those five hotels, two are catered toward the LGBT market - lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender travelers.
Both are operated by Noi Hotels, which has four boutique properties in some of the most outstanding and iconic natural landscapes in Chile - on distant Robinson Crusoe Island, in the vast Atacama desert, perched among the Andes and in the deep southern wilderness of Patagonia - as well as a fifth hotel in Santiago’s chic district of Vitacura.
Noi Viticura was one of the two hotels to get the nod from Condé Nast Traveler, praising the inhouse Argentine-Italian restaurant, Piegari, for its wide range of seafoods, from caviar to Chilean razor clams, as well as the “DJ-fueled buzz” of its rooftop Tramonto Terrace.
The second was the Puma Lodge, located high in the Chilean cordillera, yet only three hours from Santiago, where three valleys meet in the Río Los Cipreses National Reserve.
Blanketed by snow in winter, the lodge is one of Chile’s premier heli-skiing operations, offering clients access to the untouched glacial peaks looming large on all sides of the lodge. In summer, mountain biking, fly-fishing, rock climbing, hiking and wildlife spotting take center stage.
In addition to exclusive travel activities and programs, Noi Hotels offers tailor-made programs for the LGBT community to get to know Chile’s culture and experience the natural wonders it offers - as well as the cosmopolitan capital’s exciting night life.
