Chilean pop artists Alex Anwandter and Gepe will perform as the much-anticipated new music duo Alex & Daniel for the first time ever this Saturday, March 2 at Festival Neutral 2013 in downtown Santiago.

While both Alex Anwandter and Gepe are celebrated musicians in their own right, the two combined forces last year to record their song “Mundo Real” - an instant radio hit with catchy lyrics and a great dance beat. Now the duo has released their entire album (streamable online here), and they’re ready to take their sound to the stage.

About Festival Neutral 2013

Taking place across four stages at the funky Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral, Festival Neutral 2013 is a celebration of modern pop-rock music from Chile. In addition to Alex & Daniel, the event will feature six hours of live music performances from seven Chilean bands, including Congelador, Protistas, Los Mil Jinetes, Fakuta, Violeta Castillo, Pedropiedra and Ases Falsos. The event will also include a special kids-friendly stage with music and activities geared towards a younger crowd.

The festival is being organized by the Chilean record label Quemazasucabeza, a company that specializes in independent music from the Andean nation. For Rodrigo Santis, Director of Quemazasucabeza, Festival Neutral will be a great place to learn more about the country’s fascinating music scene.

"It’s a good chance to get to know and appreciate the sounds that have shaped Chile as one of the most interesting music exporters in the region," Santis said.

As if that were not already enough, the event will also be followed by an after-party at nearby Centro Arte Alameda, featuring DJ sets by Gepe and others. The after-party is free for everyone with a Festival Neutral 2013 entrance bracelet.
