Music fanatics from across Chile as well as in neighboring countries are holding their breath for Lollapalooza Chile 2013, just two days away. Organizers expect over 120,000 attendees for the third edition of Chile’s largest annual music festival.

Even before the gates to Parque Bernardo O’Higgins open to the insatiable hordes of fans, the music-packed weekend will already have begun. Ahead of the Saturday opening, Friday April 5 will bring a rich assortment of Lollapalooza’s top acts to event spaces across Santiago, including The Hives, Passion Pit, Nas, Diplo, Kaskade, and Tomahawk. Saturday April 6th

From hip hop to house, hard rock to funk, Lollapalooza Chile 2013 offers something for every music taste. Launching with a bang early on Saturday, lilting Mexican folk singer Carla Morrison, Chilean electro pop prince Gepe, and chilled out reggae star Dread Mar I take parallel stages. Throughout the day, powerhouses like Passion Pit, Hot Chip, and the Hives will escalate the energy before headliners Queens of the Stone Age and Pearl Jam explode into the evening.

Sunday April 7th

Sunday will keep the energy up with shows from Russian Red (who’s been called the Spanish Feist), suave sound engineer Toro y Moi, and Chilean folk rocker Manuel García. Franz Ferdinand, A Perfect Circle, and Nas will warm up different stages throughout the day in preparation for the final two acts, The Black Keys and Steve Aoki.

Official Lollapalooza Mobile App

For those concertgoers equipped with a smart phone, don’t forget to download the free “App Oficial Lollapalooza Chile,” the official phone app for the event. The app organizes all of Lollapalooza Chile’s acts with a brief band description (in Spanish) and links to their Twitter and Facebook pages. It also invites users to “star” their favorite acts, and generates a personalized itinerary for the event.
