Main Attractions: This route is an excellent opportunity to discover the interior valleys of the southern Coquimbo Region that lead out to the coast, such as Quilimarí river valley, Pupío, Choapa and Canela. Despite their proximity to the coast, these valleys still preserve the cultural pace of other times, when the rivers and mountains were horizons of major significance. Gain direct insights into key aspects of the local inhabitants’ history and lifeways. This is a journey across zones of biodiversity, culture and human settlements that emerged between the coasts and river valleys that are characteristic of Norte Chico (“Little North”).
