Top designers from Chile and Latin America convened at the W Hotel in Santiago on Friday, for the fashion calendar’s premium annual event.
In addition to the invited designers from Argentina, Peru, and Brazil, special guest Victoria’s Secret angel Izabel Goulart was in attendance, as was award winning Romanian artist DJ Sasha Lopez who entertained at the closing party Saturday night.
More than 25 models were on hand to flaunt the designers’ creations on the runway, including renowned Brazilians Rhayene Polster and Renata Kuerten, and elite Chilean model Suelen Wonsowis.
Brazilian musician and fashion mogul Cavalera showed off his latest collection, “Rock and Soul.” Argentine designer Benito Fernandez, Peru’s Jenny Duarte, and top Chilean designers Karin Coo and Claudio Mancilla also gave sneak previews of their creations for the upcoming fashion season.
Karin Coo shot to fame in 2011 when she won Project Runway Latin America. The following year, she opened her first store in Santiago and has since been named in the list of Chile’s top 100 most influential young leaders.
Hailing from Puerto Natales, Claudio Mancilla became fascinated in fashion as a child when he used to help his mother, a professional seamstress. Decades later, Mancilla is now one of the most respected couture designers in Latin America.
Chilean designer Morena Rosa also presented pieces from her new line, and Santiago-based Mery Satt Jewels provided eye-catching jewelry for the event.

However, it was one of the non-local guests who caught everyone’s attention, world-renowned model Izabel Goulart.
“I have just made it to my destination, good afternoon Santiago de Chile!” Goulart tweeted Saturday upon arrival, before posting on Instagram photos of the preparations backstage at the event.
After joining the other models on the catwalk to flaunt the best of Chilean design, the Victoria’s Secret Angel departed Sunday, posting further photos of the sunrise as her plane cruised over the Andes.
“Good morning Chile!” she tweeted. “What a spectacular sunrise! Goodbye Santiago!”
