The Portada de Antofagasta is the first attraction we see before a child starts going over the city and showing his skills with the ball. This is how Fundación Imagen de Chile and the Copa América organization decided to present one of the 8 host cities of this sports event.
Together with Antofagasta, there is La Serena as another northern host city, Viña del Mar, Valparaíso, Santiago and Rancagua as center region host cities, and Concepción and Temuco as southern host cities for this great football celebration.
In these one-minute long videos, characteristic places of each city can be seen while the local children and teenagers go around them. In this fashion, Valparaíso’s video showcases the port’s colourful hills, while the video for Santiago starts at the downtown area where La Moneda government house and the Plaza de Armas square can be seen.
The last time Chile was the host country for this event was on 1991. This year the cup will take place from June 11th to July 4th, and will have the participation of the Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and Jamaica teams, among others.
