Rockin’ movies come to Chile’s capital!

The 9th annual In-Edit Nescafé film festival brings nearly 50 music documentaries and movies  to cinemas in Santiago December 6 through 16.

The 9th annual In-Edit Nescafé film festival kicks off tomorrow night promising 11 days packed with music on the big screen. In-Edit Nescafé is the only Chilean film festival dedicated exclusively to music films and documentaries, and this year’s festival will feature nearly 50 of the most celebrated contributions to the genre from 2011 and 2012.
About the festival
In-Edit Nescafé will take place at five cinemas across Santiago December 6 through 16, 2012. The festival is comprised of a National Competition featuring Chilean films, an International Competition with films from around the world, and a National Short Film Competition featuring five productions from Chile.
Launched 10 years ago in Barcelona, Spain, the festival began with the goal of forming a space to unite music and film audiences. Santiago became the second In-Edit Nescafé host two years later, and now cities throughout Europe and Latin America (including Berlin, Madrid, São Paulo and others) present their own editions of this unique festival.
Films that rock
In-Edit Nescafé’s lineup of Chilean films takes on all aspects of the Andean nation’s music scene.  Films will be presented that put the spotlight on the hard-rocking Chilean bands Congreso, Emociones Clandestinas, Chancho En Piedra, Sexual Democracia, and Los Rockers.
The National Competition also features films that explore Chile’s jazz and folk artists, such as Rodrigo Recabarren, Pascuala Ilabaca, and Rosita Serrano.
The International Competition will feature 20 films. Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones, The Who, A Tribe Called Quest, and LCD Soundsystem are just a few of the subjects of the exciting lineup.
