Plop! Galería is a unique art space devoted exclusively to illustrations, cartoons, and graphics. The gallery includes both a showroom that displays rotating art exhibits from local and international illustrators, and a store that offers one-of-a-kind items and books by Chilean designers.

If you’re on the hunt for an affordable souvenir to bring home from Chile, check out Plop! Galería’s cards, mugs, notebooks, and magnets. The store offers a wide variety of fun home and office supplies decorated with funky designs by Chilean illustrators. A large colorful magnet with step-by-step instructions for making favorite Chilean dishes like the completo or pebre, for example, costs US$ 12 (CLP 6,000) and would make a great gift.

Plop! Galería also offers beautiful large prints and posters that are perfect for displaying a lasting memory of Chile in your home. A poster-sized black and white illustration of a street scene in Valparaíso, for example, costs US$ 82 (CLP 40,000), while smaller art pieces start at US$ 30 (CLP 15,000). Plop! Galería also offers an enormous selection of illustration books by Chilean authors, ranging from fun picture books for kids to coffee table books and comics.

While wandering around Plop! Galería, don’t miss the store’s rotating exhibit space. Now through June 30, the 30-year-old Argentinian illustrator known as Decur will be exhibiting his show “Pedacitos de mi alma” (Bits of my Soul), a series of over 50 paintings that are full of colorful and imaginative characters.

Plop! Galería is located near the Lastarria neighborhood at Merced 349 in storefront number 7. It’s open Monday through Sunday, 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
